What can we do to prevent discrimination?
For the penultimate blog you should think about the issues surrounding discrimination. Consider the work we have done on asylum and immigration and the stereotypes that exist about refugees and asylim seekers. Think about why people discriminate against people because of the colour of their skin or their gender. What can be done as individuals or communities to prevent this? Can it ever be eliminated. Use case studies in your arguments!!

This will be one of your last blogs. For this blog use different websites and different resources to help your comment and how you express your viewpoint.
Hi,
There is a lot that could be done to prevent discrimination. For a start, accept the communities around you, they are not going to leave just because you say so. People are here for different reasons.... don't jump to accusations! If you think they are too different to you then just don't mix with them, that way your ensured that nothing can go wrong.
But some people are too different, which is why so many people are racist... The BNP (British National Party) for a start do not like immigrants. If you ever watch or read the news you will notice this.
To prevent discrimination, we could also take this matter up to the government, and maybe they could start a scheme to help prevent discrimination in any way or form. Schemes for maybe young youths, schools etc.
Also other ideas include meetings of local communities in community centers if they have one. Any other buildings will do as well. Maybe leaflets?
If you know your living in an area that you discriminate against or have been discriminated at then just ignore the people for a while. If it gets too bad then that could be considered as harassment and you could call the police who will deal with such a case seriously.
Remember, better safe than sorry.
Now another idea is form a neighborhood watch to keep an eye out on those who cause violence. People such as hooligans, chavs, teenagers, drunks etc.
At the end of the day, who cares what skin color you have, what you believe in.... There is a saying: ''There is only one race, the human race'', which I kind of agree with because everybody is equal and deserves to be treated with respect.
I have a lot more to say on this topic which is why Ill gather my evidence to come back later and post some more.

Aisha p:very well reserched and good use of language and also you know what you have to do which is get evidence to back it up.L5c
jamal:good try but there was no need to copy and paste someone else's blog and claim it as your own iwant to know what your opinion is???????
Tirhas:
good views and I understand what you ae trying to say.Try and use the internet to back up your opinion. A level 5c.
Aisha: an extremely clear and sophisticated argument. Try developing your arguments in more detail. Focus, for example, on why the BNP are anti-immigration. Why does this lead to discrimination?
Tirhas: your argument would be much better if you used correct language!! Have a go some good ideas but it takes so long to read.

hi
there’s a lot ov fings u can do 2 prevent discrimination like :
.ppl blazing ur skin colour [race]
.gender
.da way day speak ....... ECT
Discrimination means treating some people differently from others.
if u r getting discriminated den u should tell ur :
Parents, gurdiuns, techers, who ever look afters u,talk 2 child line [witch is free]ECT
if u r still getting discriminated den u should tell da police .

Hi
well i fink dat der is all srts ov discrimination e.g
. Discrimination cause of ur skin colour
. your religion
. your accent
der r much more ,but da main point is how 2 stop it u could tell if ur gettin descriminated or u could elp stop by helpin sme 1 whos afraid 2 do something bout it u could elp dem and boost up der confident u could also try 2 knock sme sence i n 2 da person by reasoning wid him:
. u could say how it makes u feel
. or how horrid it is
. or explain wat has happened 2 otha pepl who ave been discriminated.
So der r sme ways ov preventing it. If u r bein discriminated
TELL SOMEONE!!
DON'T BE SCARED!!!!
STAND UP TO THE BULLLIES!!!!!!!
Hiiii xxx
Well I think that we should be deeply proud of who we are and if someone starts to call us names then just completely ignore them and think of them as jealous of you. It will only affect you f you feel insecure about your appearance. We should not feel insecure because God made us this way and we should not regret it I mean look at people in for instance Zimbabwe! They have flies and spots and no proper cures for their diseases. They are just lucky and grateful to be alinve in that corrupted country! I am not trying to be offensive however we need to get used to who we are and not try and cover our natural beauty up with huge amounts of make-up and etc.
On the other hand, people discriminate because they may be self-independant and want to be totally isolated from people who are from different ethnicity and that they THINK are inferior to theirs. They may be scared of them as that particular race may have a bad reputation from a person who gave them that such as Osama Bin Laden gave Islam a terrorist reputation and the people who discriminate are afraid that perhaps a Muslim man may harm them but this is unfair and injustice. Those people were thrown in to a valley of despair. Therefore we should ignore the bullies but think why did they discriminate?
Biiii xx
Tirhas: clear view but try and look at the wider issues of disrimnation such as asylum seekers and how can we prevent it?
Saira: you have made an excellent effort and some clear views. Try and give some exaples now.
Iqra: very good but try and explain how asylum seekers and migrants are affected.
wat we can do to prevent discrimination is dat we can just live in a multiculturism like the lesson we have had before and also by stayying in a good community it will be good for the people around us.
so we can stop discrimination by letting people live in wateva style and tradition they wana also one of the main acepts of discrimination is one that i think taht is not gud 'RACISM!!!' this is a discrimination which can take differebt countrys inta war and then people break up and lose there self apart also if u can just sort this nior problemz with words it should work out.
WAT U THINK ABOUT IT SIR????
PLZ HIT BAK
L8RZ
There is a lots of stuff that can be done to prevent discrimination like, accept that people around the world are hear they are hear for a reason. war could be happening in their country or they could be hear to make money for their family so they can live but they were be going back to their own county. We should be equally to people they are humans but they just look different there is no need for people to make fun of their colour or there religion, people might not like them because of their family background or there religion.
hi,
discrimination means u treat ppl in a diffrent way cuz of their skin colour or the way that they speak.
2 stop discrimination u could tell ur parents or teachers and they could do somfink 2 help u.
discrimination can also be tacken 2 the police if it is very serious and the person who discriminated u can get into a lot of troble.
so tell some1 if ur gettin discriminated it can be sorted out
bye!
hi
frm ma point of view i think lyk many ova people dat obviously discrimination is not a very nice ting to do or say in ny way. its somefink dat can hurt people (physicaly(abusng) n emotionaly), it can make frition between 2 sets ov people hu ave da same rights as each ova. when discrimination takes place n these causes happen which r written above, it increases da frition to all over da world.
iv said how discrimination happens but we need 2 tlk bout how 2 prevent it. its easy for people 2 say dat they h8 discrimination or dey h8 da way people dont lyk ova people cuz dey differ. its easy 2 say tings lyk dat, but people hu say these tings (everyone) need 2 take in account dat dey need 2 du somefink physically. if hopefully people du tink lyk dis den maybe discriminatrion might decrease. obviously im not sayin it will totaly finish in on day, but it will take time, n if everyone participates we cud make dis world a better place to live in for every single human being on earth.
ways we cud prevent discrimination:
. protest using posters.
. debates and special talks for people in different areas bout discrimination.
. educating people on why discrimination is wrong and hurtful.
overall to conclude i think every single person can participate in preventing discrimination. most people know its wrong and the people hu dont think its wrong, should. i mean the people who discriminate against peole hu differ from them should tink bout if someone did somefink lyk dat to them. i know by writing this message, it wont change things staight away but im writin did so sir can read wat i tink bout discrimination. TNK U!!!
Hi I think discrimination means treating people unfairly and unequally and has a lot of different forms for example
Age discrimination
Gender discrimination
Disability discrimination
Skin colour discrimination
Religious discrimination
Language/accent discrimination ect
However I also think that we cannot stop discrimination completely and it cannot be eliminated for the reason that everybody has there own opinions about this issue and we cannot change every bodies point of view but still to try and prevent discrimination there are many ways here are a few
*Tell your elders
•Parents
•Teachers
•Friends
•Child line
•Try to approve the people around you
•Try to treat others how you would like to be treated yourself
•Try to ignore and take no notice off the bullies ect ect
So if you are being discriminated have some confidence in yourself and speak up …
we can do something to stop discrimination just because people look different does not mean that people can juge them,we should respect other religions and other culters its good to be different so if you dont like them then dont mix with them its easy as that!...
To prevent discrimination you should keep your comments to yourselfs andnotjust blob it out and make people upset or scared.
If you make them scaredor upset
and start a little tiny tiny fight trust me it will turn into a massive big fight a variety of people will be involved in it and it will take teachers more than a day to solve the problem.Bullying someone could affect their whole life they could stop doing somethings like talking much then before. It could cause them a disease if so.
Hii...well... people discriminate people so they leave and get upset. Ignore them...you will be the brave one for staying in them area and not doing n othing about it. if it gets serious call the police. because discrimination can includes...colour of the skin...ethnicity...accent...or anything...if your living in an area that duiscriminates people...just ignore them for a while...you will be the better one for ignoring them and they will be the hated one and they might even go to prison cause of it. discrimination might start because of someone might be dissing people. It is mainly youths who dicriminate but it could turn out to be adults discrmintaing adults. you could stop it by being kind and nice to people. after the discrimnation has finished it could turn into bullying or cyber bullying. Also you could do it by accepting the communitioes around you. in my opinion...the people who migrate to the other areas fault of what religion they are. God made people and you should accept the people that live around you. Obviously when people come over to your country they aint racist otherwise they wouldnt of come over and they would of stayed over their own country and not come over because they didnt like you. but they made the choice to come over and live over the country because they like the country and the religions. people get hurt when people are racist to them or get taken the mcik ouyt of them. how would you feel if someone taken the mkick out of you!! it wouldnt be nice would it. so treat people they way you expect to be treated because it is not nice. i understand some peoples reason of bullying and discrimation because they have family problems or they have been bullied before and they weant other people to know what the pain they went through. ecveryone should be deeply proud of what religion or culture you are. dicrimnatiion has alot to do with judging people by looks religion or what they have different. people have there own looks. racism is not nice. i got loads of different ethnicities in my family and i would think of being racist. i have had people being racist to me but i have toiok no notice of them and have told the teacher or have told my parents. but i try tio keep it limited to tell my parents.
thats all i have got to sday about discrimnation...Bye...Hello Mr Bean Hallelujahh
hiiii....there is alot to talk about to try and stop racism. just to stop thinking about it and to tlk to some one about it. we could stick up for our mates to prevent discrimination......just ignore them and walk away....because they will just think they dnt wanna tlk to you and they will just geht bored.....of you...and how pple think where they are going to live.e.g they might say no i aint moving there there is to many white pple or to many blk pple..and if you think they are too too differennt to you then just dont mix with them it isnt hard and if they come up to and say you want to be ur friend or they just come up to and you dnt wanna tlk to them just go along with them and..dnt get saying ohh no i dnt wanna be ur firnd cuz u r muslim or beacause u r white. ..and if they are tht bad u just say no thank you i have already made friends with loads of other pple and i dnt want no more frinends.....ddnt geht saying noo because ur r white. .......and here is annother idea tell yah mom or yah dad or some
one thtt is really close to you bu here is some advice dnt tel yah mate even if you think tht they wont tell no oine beacause they could and then tht means for you then tht there is loads of rommers going around soo..DNT TELL YAH MATES...but if your mate says to you tht ur friend is being racist to you dnt jump to conclusions beace they just could be liening and tryig to spread roomerss..and every one is the same we should al be treated the same way equally..
to stop pple being racist we coulld get loiik a yuthh club which accepts all differnt curlters not just muslim pple or whie pple or blk pple. there should be one which takes all the differnt cluters..
thats all i have got to say thank you...x ..bhye...x bubiii

Tirhas- Very good. Some clear views with examples. Now look at other people's comments and expand on them.
Hi
Discrimination means prejudice to others for there looks, ethnic group, colour of their skin so on.
To prevent discrimination we can accept people around us even though people can be a pain in the neck. With this solution we can have a better world and a friendlier and peaceful place.
Another way to prevent discrimination is hand out leafelets to encourage others.
My best ever solution is write a letter to the government and see his opinion on what to do.
Farida- a good try but a little brief don't you think?
On your standards you should use statistical evidence or newsreports etc. to back up your views and explore the further aspects of discrimation.
stopping discrimination is a good thing because we can learn alot of ways 2 stop it by not being racist being kind 2 da communitie around us
Zakir- very brief and look at the different aspects of discrimination. A level 2c.
whaa gwarn.
its mee back on the blog ting again.

{ BEFORE I START WRITIN PROPERLY I WOULD LYK TU REQUEST DHAAT SIRR MEANIN MR FARMER LEVELSZZ DIS PEICE BECHAA I DNT KNO HU DA MODERATOR ISSZZ AND I HAVE FULL FAITH IN MR FARMER DHAAT HE WILL GIVE ME A GUD LEVEL DAT I DESERVE NO OFFENECE TU DHAAA MODERATOR}
ryt newaiiszz ..........
personally i tink dhat discriminatin against sum wun cah of their race or gender religion ect itszz wrong
we are all individuals and should be accepted for who we are {although thts not alwaysz da case }
on da wun side-
people think dat asylum seekers jst come over to spunge money out of us and to use us and have a better lifestyle and take our houses ect alot people always say they dont wanna work or they are muslim
but on da ova side -
people dnt actually realize dat that the goverment / ppl tht deal wit asylum seekerss actually check carefully to see who is lyin and who ent.
asylum simply means saftey these people are seeking saftey because there situation is that bad at their own contry they have no choice tehy are desperate.
i suppose it depends on your understanding of what the purpose is and whaa gwarrn ect
people think its bad for asylum seekers to come to the country because -
they take money houses and use the the country to have a better lifstyle or to work and reasons like that
but from another persons point of veiw i think it may be a good thing
beacse it makes the country more multicultral
they may offer new ideas and options to the country that people may not have thought about
english people may learn from them and they can work in schools and teach different languages ect
[ MY OPINION ]
but overall i cant really decide whether its a good thing for asylum seekerss tu cum ova (they gtta du wat they gtta du as evrywun dus)
because i see both sides of the debate i can see why its not a good thing for the reasons above i mean if they duin it to use us then its bad thing obviously
i can also see why its neccersarry
for asylim seekers to move from their country to be safe because it must be horrible for them not to be safe and i think that people that critisise them should try and have empathy for them meaning put you self in their shoes
it can be good cause they are safer and possibly offerin new things
it all depenends on the reason
in my eyes if you have a genuine reason then fine go for it evry one needs to feel safe were they live
but if you are doing it to use the country then its not right and therefor should stay in your own country and make the best of what they ahve and stop insulting people taht are really in danger by pretending to be caue its wrong and wastes tuime when there really is people desperate.
i think if your going to do something do it for the right reasons
anyways i been doin this for ages soo im goin
SIR LET ME KNO WAT LEVEL I AM YEH
safee
we could start to make more social clubs in order to mix different races and people so they all get to know each other and they will not discrimate because if we carry on like this there is going to be mass blood shed because one race has discriminated another and the others will retalliate so if u can here me stop this racisism because just u can make a massive change bbbbbbbbrrrrrrrrrrrraaaaaap
oh yeh almost forgot im on a 6c aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahh just lose it
hi ppl
we can do lots of things to prevent discrimination.
discrimination is when someone treats other people unfairly and badly for lots of reasons like:
.face color
.background
.what you believe in
.religion
.language
. that you are different
there are different ways we can stop it like
tell someone
tell your parents
tell a teacher
tell the police if matter gets bad
another thing is how much a person does something because you are different just ignore them because you should be proud of your selves and the way you are as a person.
sometimes it wont stop but you should try your hardest to ignore them.
if it gets serious you could tell the government or someone so they can sort it out or they can organize club or scheme to help people like you.
you should not be scared
stand up for yourself
don't let the matter increase
thank you
i might not be right but i tried
Ilyas- very good and you have a clear view however but try to use evidence from the internet.
Komal- you have made a good effort with some good examples but how have steretypes affected people ( the way they are treated? )
To all pupils: try to think outside the box, use the level descriptors to give you some ideas on what to write about and escalate your level.
erm.. i think that discrimination is a common problem because people are being forced to move house or area for someone threating them. also some people make discrimnation worse because of joing gang which do these kind of things which make a big problem because they are mixing with the wrong crowd and are making people unhappy in that area.
also dicrimination could be that some people don't like that race of that person or there religon or the way they dress and they could get dicrimated 4 dat.

Tia- that is very breif and you need to focus on different aspects of discrimination.
i dont think that even as the whole world that we can ever beat racism i think this because i think that racism is too strong when i say this i mean that too many people in the world are racist what are we suposed to do cut their voice boxes out so that they cant talk!!!
and as for eliminating it i actually think that its impossible because what are people going to do get everyone in the whole world their own personal word guard!!!
LOL!!!
Hi
I think that you could stop discrimination by not mixing with the people who discriminate you. Or you can just try to ignore them or live somewhere were you are less likely to be discriminated live in a place you know and where you know the people. Try to make friends in a place that you are getting discriminated that way people will start to make friends with you and you are less likely to be discriminated. Tell the authority your local council form a campaign ect... just ignore the people they are bound to get board of it.
