idil ismail 8m:In my opinion I think that you should be able to speak English to be a British citizen, In order to earn a decent job and living. You wouldn't be able to do many things such as understand what amount of money the shop keaper has asked for, so you may even get deceived and loose your money.ect.

Say if you have immigrated from a different country to England and you would want to live here and be a citizen of this country you would have to be able to speak english, infact it would be compolsory for you to speak it fluently and also read & write fluenlty.so that's why it's important to be able to speak english to be a british citizen.

Tirhas: an intersting argument. I think that for good or bad the famous can affect our identities. Focus on the positive side and give some examples. What else affects your identity?

Mr. Farmer said...

Zaira: a good example. Who else affects your identity? What are the most important influences on your identity?

Mr. Farmer said...

Saira: a really interesting point but you must develop your ideas further. Look at the differen tways your identity is affected by peer pressure and give examples. Can yo decide who is the most important influence? Wll or does this change at any point?

Mr. Farmer said...

Madhia: so for you religion and family affects your identity. Excellent! Can these identies ever clash?

Mr. Farmer said...

Mariam: a clear argument but you must develop this further with examples. This doesn't have to be personal to you. Think about what someone might say who disagreed with you.

Mr. Farmer said...

Letitia: a good point (L3). Support your argument with clear examples using current issues and topical events (L4). Think about what people might say if they disagreed with you! *L5)

Mr. Farmer said...

Ryan: some interesting points. Do you see yourself as British or English? What's the difference? Use facts to support your arguments and think carefully about why people may need to speak English. Can you have dual national identity?

Mr. Farmer said...

Idil: a clear argument but you must include clear examples and explain them in greater depth. Try looking at some of the useful links on the blog to find out some of the laws regarding migration.

Mr. Farmer said...

Ryan: good questions! Is there a British national team? What do you think of when you think of other countries? What are other national idenities?

Mr. Farmer said...

Fatima: why is language necessary? Think of all the things you couldn't do if you could'nt speak English? What is a citizen?

Mr. Farmer said...

Farhan: some good pints but try to explain what the consequences of not speaking English would be.

Mr. Farmer said...

Haleema: your blog lacks detail. Try to give more examples. Is this it? What else gives us our identity?

Mr. Farmer said...

Idil: what is so important about multiculturalism? What does it mean?

Mr. Farmer said...

Habiba: how do our parents affect our identity? Does this ever change? Why?

Mr. Farmer said...

Letitia: some good points but make sure you are clear about the specific ways in which language is important top you!!!

hi

well i fink family affect our identity by the way they tell us wht to do and wht not. They explain when wi do bad n also the way they act around us affects us cuz we spend more time wiv our family than wiv anyone else so we start to do some ov da fings they do e.g dress da way they do, talk da way they do(slang, fast, slow e.t.c)so dat affects our identities.

Mr. Farmer said...

Iqra: a clear explanation. Think about how this may change over time. Do our identities change as we get older? What are the most important parts of our identity?

*shopping- you need to be able to know how much things cost how much money you have and what ur buyin

*books

* if you went to a resurant

*t0 get a job

*earm a decent livin

*and just evryday tings

I CANT STRESS THE POINT ANYMORE !!!

ITSS IMPORTANT !!!

to be honest i dont see how you can dissagree (not cause i fink im always tight or nefin lyk that)
but jus because how would you get about and survive and live and anyone who questioned it i would reply with one question

HOW ARE YOU GOING TO LIVE ??????

film can be another thing. like sum ppl like horror which makes them a kind of person who likes messed up monsters killin ppl in demonic ways.
they also like th way they dress so if they see eminem in a tracksuit, they make u want a tracksuit so ull be all cool.

Hi
i think that our family change our identity alot beacause you live and sleep in their house 24 hour 7 days a week and they make the dissisions for you when you are a child and when you develop through life and grow up you can make your own dessisionns when your a young adult. They do this so you become a good adult and do this to keep you away from any problems and to the right path they change your identity on how you should look like and dont do it the way you like to do it .They probably might do it for religious beliefs or just maybe for safety , for example if you were a mini skirt and a bikini obviously people willl stare at you(men or women who knows) and they might kidnapp you or something so they do it to protect you beacause they care and love you.
Thanks for reading
And EID MUBARAK EVERYONE!

i think that famous people affect our life alot because they are every where we go,in our everyday life, e.g. in magazines, on billboards, in shop windows, on the internet, on the telvision AAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!]

AND I THINK THAT THEY HAVE THE MOST AFFECT ON YOUNG PEOPLE AND THE AGE OF ABOUT 13-18 AND THEY AFFECT THEM BECAUSE WHEN YOUNG BOYS SEE SOME ONE LIKE 50 CENT THEY THINK YEAH HE'S BEEN IN GANGS HE SMOKES HE'S A RAPPER , HE'S A GANGSTA BUT HE'S NOT HE'S SOME ONE WHO HAD ALOT OF POTENTIAL BUT HE MADE A MESS OF HIS LIFE!!!!

AND FOR GIRLS ITS THE SAME BUT WITH GIRLS ITS ALL ABOUT BEING ALL SUPER SKINNY AND WEARING LOADS OF MAKE UP!!!

WELL LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING SOME GIRLS MIGHT LOOK AT THEM AND THINK WOW THEIR PERFECT BUT WHAT THEY DONT NO IS THAT THEY HAVE BEEN AIRBRUSHED TO MAKE THEM LOOK PERFECT

people like your family affect your identity because you always be with them and like some people your parents hold your responsibility until you can look after yourself other things which can affect your identity are your friends because your friends might be different and they choose to do things which you don't like and like when you do problems occurring to your identity
