SRI - How multicultural is Britain?

How multicultural do you think Britain really is? What evidence do you see around you through the media and through your everyday experience that tells you that there are multicultural identities living in this country?

Is multiculturalism a good thing? What benefits are there to having a numbe of cultures living in the same country? What are the negative things about this?

For the penultimate blog you should think about the issues surrounding discrimination. Consider the work we have done on asylum and immigration and the stereotypes that exist about refugees and asylim seekers. Think about why people discriminate against people because of the colour of their skin or their gender. What can be done as individuals or communities to prevent this? Can it ever be eliminated. Use case studies in your arguments!!

Multiculturalism - different cultures. Culture - way of life of society. For this blog now look at what this term means to you. Why would a number of cultures be a good thing? Why would a number of cultures be a bad thing? Look at all the issues that surround multiculturalism. Remember: balance your arguments and give a conclusion, with evidence.
